Personal identification information
We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, although please note that doing so may prevent them from engaging in certain Site-related activities. We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users subscribe to the newsletter and/or fill out the “Contact Us” form, and in connection with other activities, services, features, or resources we make available on our Site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, first and last name, company, job title, email address, phone number, mailing address, postal code, and the method by which the User heard about WCVB.
Non-personal identification information
We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer, and other technical, non-personally identifying information about Users’ means of connection to our Site (e.g., the operating system, the Internet service providers utilized, and other similar information).
Web browser cookies and web beacons
Our Site may use cookies to enhance User experience. The User’s web browser places anonymous cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track non-personally identifying information about them. Users may choose to set their web browser to block or refuse cookies, or to alert the User when cookies are being sent. Please note that blocking cookies may cause the Site to function improperly.
Our Site may also use pixels or transparent GIF files in conjunction with our online advertising efforts. These files, which track which advertisements bring users to our Site, are anonymous and the information they provide is not personally identifiable. All Users have the choice to opt out of receiving these GIF files, though please note that participating in our opt-out program does not prevent Users from seeing our online ads.
You can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page, or learn more about your choices for limiting or disabling these tools by visiting http://www.aboutads.info/choices and http://www.youronlinechoices.eu/
